We've replaced industry standard recovery
methods with new technology.
At Continental Aluminum, we use an Eddy Current Separator that's
able to separate and recover aluminum from household, post-consumer,
industrial and other materials. This method replaces a process that
was unable to separate non-metallics prior to processing.
Scrap Inspection Plan
We've adopted a Scrap Inspection Plan that is basically a structured
protocol to consistently determine acceptable levels of organic contamination
in aluminum scrap. All incoming scrap in inspected, graded and compared
to the standards that have been established to ensure compliance. Only
scrap that's deemed suitably acceptable is processed, and then it's
only processed according to the established protocol.
Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring
(OM&M) Plan
This plan is a methodology to ensure that all process, control and monitoring
devices are functioning within permit and manufacturer specifications.
Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP)
This plan weaves together several other preventive and contingency procedures
enabling total preparedness. This allows us to easily integrate and
implement:
· Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)
· The Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
· The Pollution Incident Prevention Plan (PIPP)
· The Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan (HWCP)
